The Bachelor’s Program in Information Technology is committed to producing graduates who are job-ready, adaptive to technological developments, and capable of making meaningful contributions in the professional world. This commitment is reflected in the alumni survey / tracer study of graduates from the last three years conducted in 2024, which shows that the majority of alumni have been absorbed into various strategic sectors aligned with the competencies developed through the program’s curriculum.

Based on the recap results, 49% of alumni work in system development, software engineering, data engineering, business intelligence, web development, and digital innovation. This achievement demonstrates the strong implementation of Graduate Profile PL04, namely the ability to design and develop computer-based systems, intelligent systems, and data science solutions to produce adaptive and innovative solutions for organizations. These findings also confirm that the Information Technology curriculum is aligned with the needs of the digital transformation era, particularly in software development, data management, and modern systems engineering.

Furthermore, 24% of alumni pursue careers in IT operations, infrastructure, system administration, networking, and technical support. This result reflects the achievement of PL01, which is the ability to systematically apply theoretical and empirical concepts to solve information technology problems according to organizational needs. Graduates are able to fill key roles as IT service managers, system administrators, network engineers, and support specialists who drive digital operations in various institutions.

A total of 18% of alumni work in digital creative and visual communication fields, such as UI/UX Designers, Graphic Designers, Video Editors, and Digital Campaign Specialists. This finding highlights strong competence in PL03, namely the ability to collaborate in teams, communicate effectively, and adapt to other disciplines related to information technology. These competencies are highly relevant in the digital creative industry, where technology intersects with design, communication, and user experience.

In addition, alumni are also engaged in education, training, government, and community empowerment sectors, reflecting the implementation of PL02, which emphasizes lifelong learning, professionalism, ethical conduct, and the ability to create sustainable positive impact for society.

The tracer study results indicate that graduates of the Information Technology program possess strong competitiveness, high adaptability, and readiness to pursue careers across various sectors, including industry, government, education, and digital entrepreneurship. The wide distribution of alumni careers demonstrates that the curriculum has been designed responsively to meet stakeholder needs, technological developments, and future challenges.

Through an Outcome-Based Education (OBE) curriculum, the Bachelor’s Program in Information Technology continues to prepare excellent, professional, and competitive graduates through learning that is relevant to workforce needs. The curriculum emphasizes project-based learning, applied research, mastery of information technology, and learning experiences that foster critical thinking, problem solving, communication, and collaboration skills.

The program also actively encourages students to participate in various local and national competitions as a platform to develop hard skills and soft skills, boost confidence, enhance teamwork and creativity, and strengthen students’ competitiveness in professional environments.

In addition, the program regularly organizes guest lectures by industry practitioners from the Information Technology and Artificial Intelligence (AI) sectors to provide up-to-date insights on industry needs, technology trends, professional work culture, and career opportunities for students.

As part of the curriculum implementation, students are also required to undertake internships to gain direct workplace experience, understand organizational business processes, and apply their knowledge in real-world situations.

All of these efforts demonstrate the commitment of the Bachelor’s Program in Information Technology to producing graduates who are ready to enter the workforce, adaptive to technological advancements, and capable of making meaningful contributions to organizations, industry, and society.
