Medan, Humas Fasilkom-TI – Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU) has held an open session of USU's 70th Anniversary on Thursday, October 21, 2022, at the USU Auditorium with the theme 'Towards Entrepreneurial University'.

The event was opened by the Rector of Universitas Sumatera Utara Dr. Muryanto Amin, S.Sos., M.Sc., followed by remarks by the Governor of North Sumatra Edy Rahmayadi, and virtual remarks by the President of the Republic of Indonesia, Jokowi Dodo.

The Rector of USU in his report said that USU had reached the national level by being ranked in the 12th best university. On the other hand, USU is ranked 1,201+ in the QS World University (WU) Ranking 2021 and this is the first time USU has entered the ranking.

In 2039, USU is targeted to become a university that has academic excellence, "As a barometer of scientific progress that is able to compete at the global level," concluded Muryanto.

Fasilkom-TI (Faculty of Computer Science and Information Technology) has won four awards in this open session of the 70th USU Anniversary. The S-1 Computer Science study program was ranked second in the IKU (Key Performance Indicator) 5 award in the category of lecturers' work that was used by the public or received international recognition. Furthermore, the award for the 2022 USU Excellent Accreditation Study Program by the Computer Science S-1 study program and the Information Technology S-1 study program, as well as the Deputy Dean 3 of Fasilkom-TI Romi Fadillah Rahmat, B. Comp.Sc. M.Sc. won third place in the Most Citation Contributor award.
