Three teams from the Faculty of Computer Science and Information Technology (Fasilkom-TI) at the University of North Sumatra (USU) have qualified to participate in the 37th National Scientific Week (PIMNAS) in 2024. PIMNAS 37 will be held at Airlangga University from October 14 to 19, 2024.
The PIMNAS event is part of the evaluation process for student proposal programs known as the Student Creativity Program (PKM) and the assessment of the progress of PKM implementation (PKP2), organized by the Directorate of Learning and Student Affairs - Directorate General of Higher Education, and the Directorate of Vocational Higher Education - Directorate General of Vocational Education.

The teams are as follows: The SkiDoTrack Team in the Community Service PKM scheme, with the research title "Educational Program for Screening and Prevention of Stunting Through Optimization of the SKIDOTrack Application: Smart Kids Development Tracking System for PKK Mothers in Limau Sundai." The SkiDoTrack team members include Dona Lorenza from Computer Science 2021 and Siti Nur Salsabila, Rafi Fauzan Tsany Lubis, Daffa Prawira Akbar, and Tiara Bella Dwiyanti Sitepu from Computer Science 2023, supervised by Computer Science lecturer Dewi Sartika Ginting, S.Kom, M.Kom.
Next is the Elcue Team, participating under the Karsa Cipta PKM scheme with the research title "ElCue: A Video Call Application with Indonesian Sign Language Detection (BISINDO) Based on Computer Vision and Deep Learning to Enhance Inclusive Communication." Team members include Tessa Agitha Irwani Br Barus, Putri Andriyani, Rani Widya Astuti, Angela Siadari, and Heiga Pricilla Br Purba from Computer Science 2021. This team is supervised by Computer Science lecturer Hayatunnufus, S.Kom., M.Cs.

The final team is the Dedel Team in the Community Service PKM scheme, with the research title "Optimization of Maternal and Child Health (KIA): Digitalization of KMS (Health Guide Card) Based on Machine Learning Using DEDEL (Early Detection Electronic)." The Dedel team consists of Rizky Maulana Sembiring and Husein Ibnu Mahmud from Computer Science 2021, along with Rara Maura Hasibuan, Fahia Meutia Mufida, and Davina Athirah from Public Health 2021. This team is supervised by Public Health lecturer Dhani Syahputra Bukti, SKM., MKM.

The success of these three teams from Fasilkom-TI USU demonstrates that student innovation and creativity are continually evolving to address societal challenges through technology and research. With the qualification of these three teams, it is hoped that their contributions at PIMNAS 37 will have a broader positive impact and inspire other students to continue creating and innovating.
