The AR Card Techtonic team, a collaboration of the Faculty of Computer Science and Information Technology (Fasilkom-TI) and the Faculty of Engineering of the Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU), won second place in the 36th non-PIMNAS community service innovation product competition held on November 27-30, 2023, at Padjadjaran University, Bandung.

All participants of the Student Creativity Program (PKM) who are not called to the 36th PIMNAS event can follow the non-Pimnas competition. The non-Pimnas competition is divided into three categories: Technology products/works, Entrepreneurship, and Community Service. The AR Card Techtonic Team participated in the community service competition category.

The AR Card Techtonic team consists of one Information Technology student, Donny Adithya, and four Civil Engineering students, Siti Maulida Hasni, Annisa Tanurin Nasution, Luthfiah Khairunnisa, M Devin Alfalah Rambe. The team was accompanied by a Civil Engineering lecturer, Dr. Ir. Rahmi Karolina, S.T., M.T., IPM.

AR Card Techtonic is an earthquake disaster mitigation tool that shapes the alertness of elementary school students with 3D Augmented Reality (AR) card media. The background of the creation of AR Card Techtonic is the lack of knowledge of children about saving themselves during an earthquake, as evidenced by the data that every year, it is estimated that around 66 million children around the world are affected by earthquake disasters.

After the product was made, the AR Card Techtonic Team implemented it with their partner, SDIT Siti Hajar, by explaining its use, conducting Training of Trainers (ToT) for class teachers, practicing the use of AR cards, and simulating earthquakes.

To prove the product's effectiveness, the AR Card Techtonic Team submitted several surveys asking teachers and elementary school students questions about snakes and ladders media and AR Card Techtonic card media. It can be concluded that AR Card Techtonic is able to increase awareness and preparedness of elementary school students in creating mitigation independence. In addition, this program can realize learning innovations that are fun and educational.
