Muhammad Rafly Ritonga Wins Gold Medal - Best Presentation at IMT-GT Varsity Carnival 2024
A student from Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU) has once again achieved international recognition. Muhammad Rafly Ritonga, a 2021 Computer Science undergraduate student, won the Gold Medal for Best Presentation at the 23rd Indonesia Malaysia Thailand - Growth Triangle (IMT-GT) Varsity Carnival 2024. The event was held in Penang, Malaysia, from August 26-30, 2024.
The IMT-GT Varsity Carnival is an annual competition that brings together students from the three Growth Triangle member countries: Indonesia, Malaysia, and Thailand. The event includes a variety of competitions, from sports and cultural events to academic seminars, aimed at strengthening cooperation and friendship among students from these nations. In addition to being a competition, the IMT-GT Varsity Carnival serves as an important platform for students to exchange knowledge and experiences in a healthy competitive environment.
Rafly, who competed in the scientific presentation category, won the gold medal and Best Presentation award for his innovative ideas and exceptional communication skills. This achievement highlights not only the academic quality of USU students but also their potential to offer relevant solutions on the international stage.
This success is a source of pride for Rafly and Universitas Sumatera Utara, as it brings recognition to Indonesia in an international competition. Furthermore, this accomplishment is expected to inspire other students to continue innovating and excelling in various fields.
IMT-GT, established in 1993, is an initiative aimed at strengthening socio-economic relations between member countries in the Indonesia-Malaysia-Thailand Growth Triangle region. Through events like the Varsity Carnival, it is hoped that closer and more harmonious cooperation will develop among the youth of the three nations.
