Leica Al Humaira Lubis Wins Gold and Bronze Medals in PON XXI Karate Event
The University of North Sumatra (USU) takes pride once again in the outstanding achievements of its student, Leica Al Humaira Lubis. A student in the Bachelor’s program of Computer Science, Class of 2022, Leica won a gold medal in the Individual Kumite category and a bronze medal in the Team Kumite category at the National Sports Week (PON) XXI.
This impressive accomplishment highlights that USU students excel not only academically but also in national sports competitions. PON XXI is Indonesia’s largest sporting event, where athletes from all provinces compete in various sports. Leica's success in karate brings personal pride and enhances USU’s reputation on a national level.
The PON XXI 2024 is scheduled to take place from September 8 to 20, 2024, hosted jointly by Aceh and North Sumatra. This marks the first time the event will be co-hosted, providing athletes like Leica with a broader national stage to showcase their talents and foster national unity.
