ICCAI 2025 at USU gathered global experts and scholars in computing and AI, presenting 86 papers that explored innovation, collaboration, and digital transformation.

Medan, September 2025 — The Faculty of Computer Science and Information Technology, Universitas Sumatera Utara (Fasilkom-TI USU), successfully hosted The 7th International Conference on Computing and Applied Informatics (ICCAI 2025) on September 16–17, 2025.
The event adopted a hybrid format, combining on-site and virtual sessions to connect researchers and academics from various countries.

The conference opened with participant registration and welcoming remarks from the ICCAI Chair, Dean of Fasilkom-TI USU, and the Rector of Universitas Sumatera Utara.

This year’s ICCAI received 257 submissions, with 86 papers accepted and presented across multiple parallel sessions held both in-person and online.

Three distinguished speakers shared their insights on key advances in AI and computer science:

  1. Dr. Partha Pakray (National Institute of Technology Silchar, India) – “An Automatic Detection of AI-Generated Text”, exploring the challenges of differentiating human-written and AI-generated text while maintaining academic integrity.

  2. Dr. Muhammad Fermi Pasha (Monash University, Malaysia) – “A Spectrum of Micro-Expression Recognition Framework: What’s Next?”, discussing efficient approaches to micro-expression recognition and emotional AI.

  3. Prof. Poltak Sihombing, Ph.D. (Universitas Sumatera Utara) – “Super Smart Society: A New World Under the Control of IoT, AI, and Robots”, addressing future smart society frameworks supported by intelligent systems.

Special recognition was given to Dr. T. Henny Febriana Harumy, S.Kom., M.Kom., the Chair of ICCAI 2025, for her leadership and dedication in ensuring the event’s success.
The faculty also extended appreciation to all authors, speakers, reviewers, and participants who contributed to advancing academic collaboration.

With the theme “Emerging Research in Computer Science and Information Technology in Digital Transformation,” ICCAI 2025 served as a global platform for sharing innovative research and strengthening academic partnerships.
All accepted and presented papers are eligible for publication in IEEE Xplore and indexing in major scientific databases.
