Medan, May 8, 2023 – The Faculty of Computer Science and Information Technology at Universitas Sumatera Utara (Fasilkom-TI USU) formalized a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) with Leiden University, Netherlands. The signing, held in the Biro Pusat Administrasi’s Video Conference Room, marks a step toward deeper academic and research cooperation.
The event opened with the Indonesian national anthem, followed by a welcoming address from the Dean of Fasilkom-TI, who emphasized that this partnership aims to combine research strengths and drive positive environmental and societal impacts. Ceremonial exchanges and commemorative gifts between both parties concluded the event.
Founded in 1575, Leiden University is the oldest university in the Netherlands and is renowned worldwide for its excellence in research and education, particularly in the fields of science, humanities, and social sciences. This MoA paves the way for potential joint research initiatives, faculty and student exchanges, and academic workshops, enriching the bilateral capabilities of both institutions. It reflects Fasilkom-TI’s commitment to integrating global partnerships to enhance academic quality and relevance.
