The Faculty of Computer Science and Information Technology (Fasilkom-TI) at Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU) received several awards at the USU Awarding Night held at the USU Auditorium on Friday, December 15, 2023. The USU Awarding Night is an awards ceremony aimed at recognizing and appreciating the academic community, accredited study programs, notable figures, and educational institutions at USU that have contributed to uplifting the university's name through their achievements, as well as students who have excelled in national and international competitions.
Fasilkom-TI brought home several awards, including achieving a 100% reporting data percentage for USU during the PDDIKTI reporting period for the even semester of the 2022/2023 academic year and ranking second in the category of the highest employer reputation. Fasilkom-TI students also received several awards, including the national achievement category awarded to M. Ariyo Syahraza, a 2021 student of Information Technology, as a recipient of funding from the Student Entrepreneurship Development Program (P2MW), and Mhd. Afifan Aly R. Saragih, a 2020 student of Information Technology, won a silver medal at the 2023 National Student Scientific Week (PIMNAS) in the poster category. Farhan Doli Fadhiil Siagian, a 2020 Computer Science student, won the national third place at the Youth Innovation event by cias.co and Rumah Kepemimpinan. Donny Adithya, a 2021 student of Information Technology, was awarded the national second place for his innovation in community service products outside of PIMNAS. Deza Banjarnahor, a 2021 student of Information Technology, won the regional category at the Fordigi Hackathon Challenge.
USU Rector Dr. Muryanto Amin S.Sos., M.Si., expressed his appreciation to all academic community members who have achieved outstanding results and made significant contributions to USU. This achievement has positioned USU as a university with great potential to enter the top 500 of the QS World University Rankings.
The event also featured various entertainment segments showcasing internal, local, and national artists. The USU Rector recognized the academic community and several alumni, partners, and related stakeholders, including the Mayor of Medan, Bobby Nasution, who received an award as an education advocate.
