The Faculty of Computer Science and Information Technology (Fasilkom-TI) of Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU) has held a practitioner lecture in the field of user experience design. This practitioner lecture was held on Friday, June 7, 2024 at the Digital Learning Center Building (DLCB) 8th Floor, Universitas Sumatera Utara .
This activity was opened by Information Technology Lecturer Fanindia Purnamasari, S.IT., M.IT, as the moderator, singing the Indonesia Raya song, remarks from the Head of the Information Technology Study Program, Dedy Arisandi, S.T, M.Kom., giving certificates to speakers and delivering material by the speaker, Muhammad Iqbal Muzakki UI / UX Designer at INKOR.
In the delivery of the material, Iqbal explained related to design fundamentals, design thinking, UI design and what is needed as a designer. In the explanation of design fundamentals, it is explained about the meaning of UI / UX design, making UX case studies, UX law, design frameworks and how to work with teams.
In part two, design thinking is explained regarding processes such as empathize, define, ideate, prototype and test. Section three explains UI design principles, frameworks, system design and high-fidelity and prototyping. The final section explains how to compile a portfolio for UI/UX designers and resources in design.
After the speakers delivered the material, the students were asked to practice designing on Figma which was directed directly by the speakers. At the end of the session, questions and discussions were opened to the speakers. The activity was closed with closing remarks and activity conclusions by the moderator.
