The Faculty of Computer Science and Information Technology (Fasilkom-TI) of the Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU) has signed an adjunct professor contract with Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM) on Tuesday, May 7, 2023 at the USU Chancellor's Bureau and a public lecture entitled “Research Advanced in Network Computing”, on Wednesday, May 8, 2024 at the 2nd Floor Seminar Room of Building E Data Science and Artificial Intelligence Fasilkom-TI USU.

Adjunct professors are professors from foreign partners, namely Universiti Utara Malaysia. The adjunct professor can strengthen the excellence of scientific fields, teach and guide Fasilkom-TI students, be directly involved in collaborative research, and increase the capacity of human resources.

The activity continued with signing the adjunct professor cooperation contract and a public lecture moderated by the Head of the Master of Informatics Engineering Study Program Dr. Eng Ade Candra S.T., M.Kom. The material was presented by Prof. Ts. Dr. Suhaidi B Hassan, Professor of Computing Networks at the School of Computing Universiti Utara Malaysia. In his presentation, he explained the Internet as a driver of the digital future, as evidenced by as many as 5.30 billion global Internet users spend an average of seven hours online every day. He also explained the Internet of Things (IOT), which includes the application, development, and benefits of the Internet of Things (IOT).
