Fasilkom-TI USU visited UPM to discuss collaboration on internships, research, student and exchanges, and implementing an offshore program designed by UPM at USU.

The Faculty of Computer Science and Information Technology (Fasilkom-TI) of Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU) conducted a collaborative visit to Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) on Tuesday, November 29, 2022.

The representatives from Fasilkom-TI included the Dean, Dr. Maya Silvi Lydia, B.Sc, M.Sc., Vice Dean for Research, Community Service, Cooperation, and Information, Romi Fadillah Rahmat, B.Comp.Sc., M.Sc., Expert Staff for Human Resources and Finance, Pauzi Ibrahim Nainggolan, M.Sc., Head of the Master's Program in Data Science and Artificial Intelligence, Dr. Erna Budhiarti Nababan, M.IT, Head of the Information Systems Center (PSI) at USU, Mohammad Fadly Syah Putra, B.Sc., M.Sc., and Public Relations Staff of Fasilkom-TI, Rhama Permadi Ahmad, S.Kom.

The collaboration agenda covered discussions on internships for undergraduate and master's programs, mobility programs, research collaboration, offshore programs, exchange programs, jointly/dual programs, journals, conferences, research/grant collaboration, and staff exchanges between the two universities. The offshore program, designed by UPM, includes its curriculum and will be implemented at USU.

Additionally, student mobility was addressed through a student exchange program, where both USU and UPM will send their students for the exchange. Eligible students are those in their 4th to 6th semesters, allowing them to work on their theses elsewhere and still graduate on time. For staff exchange, UPM will invite USU lecturers to teach, conduct research, and engage in discussions.
